Osimhen May Miss AFCON As He Tests Positive For COVID-19

SSC Napoli has announced that Victor Osimhen has been tested positive for Covid-19.
Victor Osimhen was listed in the 28-man squad for the Super Eagles ahead of the African Nations Cup in Cameroon which kicks off January 9. Osimhen who is just recovering from face injury declared that he will be available for the bi-annual competition as the three-time African champions camp opened in Abuja on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, there is doubt about his availability as the Serie A side said the check up to ascertain the 22-year-old match fitness has now been postponed indefinitely.
The club added that another test will be performed tomorrow (Friday) as the final test to confirm his COVID-19 status.
SSC Napoli announced this on their official Twitter handle.

Napoli next assignment will be playing against Juventus in the League on Thursday January 6 and host Sampdoria on Sunday January 9 the kick off date of the 2021 AFCON
The 2021 African Nations Cup will kick off on January 9 through to February 6.
