  Osimhen Present As Napoli Names Naples Metro Station And Unveiled After Maradona By Sampson Adedeji Despite out of action due to injury, Nigeria's Super Eagles and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen continued to make headlines for the right reason in the city of Napoli, Italy, BSNSports.com.ng reports Osimhen joined Napoli this summer from the LOSC Lille after a successful outing in the French Ligue One. The former Wolfsburg striker got injured while representing Nigeria in the 2021 African Cup Of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone. Stadio San Paolo on Saturday afternoon renamed, Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and metro station also became part of a Napoli Museum. The local council rushed through the plans to call the stadium after Maradona just days after his death last month at the age of 60. That wasn’t the only tribute, though, because the Cumana metro station has also been renamed the Mostra-Stadio Maradona stop. It has become a sort of museum in itself, with artwork all along the walls depicting moments from Napoli’s history. There are plans to build a museum to Napoli within the stadium, including the items left outside the gates in tribute to Diego following his death. Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis and forward Victor Osimhen were present at the unveiling. Napoli will play Crotone on Sunday with the Nigeria international.
