Osun Lawmakers Frown at Reduction in Players Salaries, Summon Sports Council Leadership   By Our Reporter The Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Youth and Sports has asked the General Manager of the State's Sports Council, Mr Rotimi Dunmoye and the Accountant, Mr. Tajudeen Oduola to explain reasons for reduction in salaries of Osun United and Osun Babes players and technical crew from July to September, 2020. At the ongoing investigation into income and expenditure of the Sports Council and Osun United, the lawmakers promised to dig deep into the reason for this decision and take necessary step to correct it. It would be recalled that Governor Gboyega Oyetola in August, approved the payment of three month salaries of players, coaches and management of Osun United, Osun Babes including performing athletes and contract coaches at the Sports Council which were suspended in July this year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. However, there was an outrage from every corner when players and coaches discovered huge reduction in their salaries by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Sports Council which according to the House Committee on Sports, was unwarranted. The Chairman, House Committee on Youth and Sports, Hon. Adirulahi Adegbile, together with other committee members frowned at the act and directed the Sports Council's General Manager, Mr. Rotimi Dunmoye and the Accountant, Mr. Tajudeen Oduola to, on Wednesday, October 7, bring all documents relating to salary payment to players and coaches from July to September, 2020 and explain what led to the infractions.
