Otubanjo Late Goal Takes Ararat To Armenia Premier League Table Summit

By BOSUN ADEYEMI

Former Golden Eaglets goal poacher, Yusuf Otubanjo Olaitan's 88th minute goal gave his club Ararat Amenia FC an away victory over arch rivals Ararat Yerevan, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The win helped Ararat Amenia to the top of the Armenian Premier League standings on 49 points, one point better than the second-placed FC Noah.

The former Julius Berger, Gateway United and Atletico Madrid youth sensation expressed his delight at the victory.

He said: "I am very excited to have scored the winning goal after so many attempts on goal. Ararat Yerevan are also not small club, but it is only God that gave us the victory. The game is the most important win for us after we lost so many chances of being crowned champions in previous games. The moment I scored that goal was unspeakable to me. The way we celebrated is like we had won the league already. It's like a miracle after so many saves by the opposing goalkeeper."

Otubanjo has scored six goals in 12 appearances for Ararat Amenia since joining them on loan in January from LASK FC of Austria.
