Over 20 million Nigerians Benefit From NSIO Programmes - Report

No fewer than 20 million Nigerians have benefited from different programmes by the National Social Investment Office (NSIO) aimed at reducing the high level of poverty in the country.
According to a report available to BSN NEWS Titled: "Investing in our people" released in December 2018, 500,000 graduates, 100,000 non-graduates have benefited from the 'Job Creation and Youth Employment (N-Power). Also, 12 million Nigerian children were fed through one of its programmes called 'National Home Grown School Feeding Programme' (NHGSFP).
The report added that 1 million poorest households directly received the N5,000 monthly stipend paid to the poorest of the poor within Nigeria through National Cash Transfer Programme (NCPT).
Petty traders nationwide were not left out as they were also beneficiary as Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) which targets 2.5 million petty, micro, small and medium enterprises received cash to help boost their different trade.
However, the lives of eight million and seven hundred thousand (8,700,000) secondary beneficiaries were also touched.
National Social Investment Office is chaired by the office of the Vice-President of Nigeria.
