Over 5,000 Players Throng Goal Project As Water FC Trials Commence In Abuja By Niyi Busari Not fewer than five thousand players on Wednesday were at the FIFA Goal Project, Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja for Water FC three-day Trials, BSNSports.com.ng can report. Water FC, a renown football academy based in Abuja would be contesting in the Nigeria Nationwide League hence the organisation of the three-day open screening to give opportunity to talented young players. Started on Wednesday, the trials is expected to climax on Friday. Speaking at the venue, Nureni Makanjuola, popularly known as MK, said giving hopes and opportunities to young Nigerians makes him happy. He added that he was satisfied with what he saw on the opening day and players selected from the trials will be registered to participate in the Nigeria Nationwide League for Water FC.. Seeing these massive football talents is a fact that the country is blessed but they need to be properly guided,” Makanjuola said. “The successful ones at the open football trials will be nurtured and developed to meet the expectations of the standard abroad, especially in Europe. “But we want to start from the home front. Water Fc hope to play in the Nigeria National League soon. So,this trial is the opportunity to scout new players for the task ahead. “We have not been disappointed with what we have seen so far and we are glad to help these talented teenage footballers,” he said MK Sports had produced players for the national teams, some of which are, Babatunde Michael, Gabriel Okechukwu, Success Makanjuola, Emeka Chinonso, to mention but few.
