Nigeria and RC Genk’s forward Paul Ebere Onuachu has had a 41.7 % rise in his market value following Transfermarkt’s latest update on Wednesday March 17 2018, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Super Eagles star is now valued at €17m, five more than the €12m he was valued just three months ago and the geometrical rise has not come as surprise to football watchers following the gangling forward’s impressive display in front of goals since the start of the ongoing Belgian Jupiler Pro League season. Onuachu has been the best goalscorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League and, therefore, sees his name rise in the market value ranking, where he is now in second place as the player with the highest percentage of increase in his market value behind Club Brugge’s 21 year old Noa Lang is now the most valuable player in the league with the Nigerian the second. The Nigerian has bagged 25 goals in 29 games so far this term but he is seen as much more than just a pure goalscorer at the third-placed club on the log. “Despite being 2.01 meters tall, the 26-year-old Nigerian has good ball control and is quite involved in his club’s attacking play,” Belgium Area Manager Bart Tamsyn stated. “The combination of his height, technical ability, and goalscoring instinct makes him an interesting prospect for foreign clubs and, as a result, his market value has grown from €12 million to €17 million.” Onuachu will be hoping to finally replicate his club form for the national team after he was extended an invitation for Nigeria’s two 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifying games against Benin Republic in Port Novo and Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun stadium later this month.
