PFAN Appoints Five-man Constitution Drafting Committee

The Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN) has approved the appointment of five-man Constitutional Drafting Committee, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary-General of the Union, Emmanuel Babayaro (MON) on Monday. The Committee consists of; Barrister Felix Eshalomi as Chairman while Austin Popo is the Secretary.
The statement reads in part; "In line with the rebranding of PFAN and as proposed during the Administrative Council Meeting held on the 14th of January, 2021, the President Tijani Babangida MON has directed the conveyance of his approval for the constitution of the Constitutional Review and Drafting Committee.
Members of the committee are as follows;
1. Barrister Felix Eshalomi - Chairman.
2. Barrister Chief Rumson Baribote.
3. Austin Popo - Secretary.
4. Barr Lawal Audu Mohammed
5. Barr Nixon Igwe.
"While thanking the committee members for their great services to the Union so far he urged them to see this as the greatest and most important, as the outcome of their work will define PFAN in Principle, Policy and Operations.
"The president also reminded the committee of the rebranding posture of the current administration and the importance of creating the PFAN that becomes the strongest and most important Brand.
The committee has been mandated to study the constitutions of the two former Unions with a view to reviewing and improving on them in line with the aspirations of PFAN.
Their final document as presented shall become the Union's code, therefore the importance and sensitivity of their assignment can not be over emphasized.
The committee has until the 1st of March to submit their report.
The president of the Players' Union, Tijani Babangida again thanked the members of the committee for their commitments, courage, sacrifice and the anticipated outcome of their work.
