"The news came as a rude shock to Nigerians and the football family especially PFAN who relied consistently on his integrity and passion for truth in the pursuit of issues that borders on players welfare. As a former footballer he was exceptional and represented his fatherland. As a former Team manager of Bendel Insurance he handled the players with same love he showed his biological children. Uncle Sam was a disciplinarian and fine gentleman. We surely have lost an irreplaceable man of truth and candour. He was an example of what an ex footballer should be. A detribalised Nigerian. Rest in Peace our hero, Uncle Sam."
