  PFAN Poised To Transform Football, Footballers In Nigeria - Babayaro By Niyi Busari Secretary General, Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Emmanuel Babayaro said the Association is poised to transform the game of football and footballers in Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng can report. The Olympic gold medallist, however, admitted that the task is not going to be easy but optimistic that with right mentality, discipline and team work, the task though herculean but can be achievable. In his words, "On behalf of the president comrade Tijani Babangida (MON), I have been bestowed with the rare honor of welcoming all the heroes of Nigerian Football to this Great Association." The former Plateau United goalkeeper stated. "An organization poised to transform the face of Football and Footballers in Nigeria. Indeed Greatness is here. As we take stock in readiness for the task ahead which is to deliver Nigerian Footballers to the promised land, we must be equipped with the following; right mentality, professional discipline , target (goals) oriented and above all we must be team players. The task ahead, though herculean is not impossible and this great Union made up of the best heads any organization can boast of is more than equal to the task. In fact I have never been more sure of Success than I am today as I am confident in the array of Intellectuals and Heroes passionately dedicated to the common course." "I am proud of this day because I know the Nigerian footballers even yet unborn shall be proud of the history at the end, I am so confident, that people will judge us good." He concluded. Born on December 26 1976, Emmanuel Babayaro (MON) was elected General Secretary of PFAN on Saturday. He is a goalkeeper, best known for being the older brother of former Chelsea and Newcastle United player Celestine Babayaro . Babayaro was also part of Nigeria 's gold medal winning team at the 1996 Olympics , a side in which Celestine also appeared.
