Pillars Hit Kano To Parade Federation Trophy Today

Current Aiteo/Federation cup champions, Kano Pillars Football Club are expected to arrive the Pyramid City today, Monday 5th August 2019 ahead of their CAF Champions League clash with Asante Kotoko.

The Sai Masu Gida were in Kaduna since after their final triumph over Niger Tornadoes in the Aiteo Cup and continued with their preparation ahead of the tie against Asante Kotoko of Ghana.
According to the Chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya, the team will leave Kaduna at eight o’clock in the morning and expected to hit the City of Kano by one o’clock in the afternoon of Monday.
The chairman thanked the People of Kaduna state, particularly the football family for the support and cooperation given to the team before, during and after the Aiteo cup.
Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya then commended the players, technical crew, fans, Government and good people of Kano State for making it possible for the team to break the sixty six years jinx by wining the National Cup.
On his part, the permanent secretary Kano State Ministry of Sports and Youths Development, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Sagagi said all is set by Government and people of the State to received the victorious Pillars with a warm reception.
Alhaji Ahmad Sagagi then urged people of the state particularly supporters of the club to come out in their large number to received the team at Zaria road along Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education Kumbotso.
He said the players would go round to some major streets in Kano metropolis for a trophy parade and later, the team will go straight to Government House to present the Giant trophy to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to round up the celebration.
The Pride of Kano will host Asante Kotoko of Ghana in their first leg clash of the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League preliminary round on Saturday 10th August 2019 at the magnificent Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano.
