Pinnick Bashes Eagles Players, Says "We Lifted You From The Streets, Creeks." By Niyi Busari FIFA Council Member and President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick slammed Super Eagles players while addressing the team ahead of their 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia. Pinnick in a video posted on the Super Eagles official Facebook page while speaking with the players during the dinner time visit to motivate the players misused his office to take a swipe at the players. https://www.facebook.com/ngsupereagles/videos/250163336965677/ He said, "We just need your collective support, so, when we call on you to assist us, you should know that we lifted you from the streets, we lifted you from the creeks, we enabled you grow into various national teams. NFF is not part of what you take home. The only thing we need is to work as a team. We can enhance, we can influence. I am in FIFA Council. Also present at the dinner were players who were not born in Nigeria, such as, Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo, Ola Aina, Maduka Okoye, Innocent Bonke. It is demoralizing saying such words to these players whom the NFF had no contribution to their development from the grassroots. He however seized the opportunity to announce the contract between the NFF and Baba Ijebu worth N4m. "We are almost there by God's grace. I can also tell you that we signed another contract today with Baba Ijebu for N400,000,000. Then, I cal also tell you and this is to only the players. We are signing a contract next week and this is player based. Life, injury 100% insured for all our national team players. That contract will be signed on the 18th of this month. So, we are almost there." Group C leaders, Super Eagles will leave Nigeria for Cape Verde on Monday for the second group game scheduled for Tuesday.
