Pinnick Challenges Federal High Court, Says They Have No Business in Nigerian Football

PINNICK CHALLENGES FEDERAL HIGH COURT, SAYS THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS IN NIGERIAN FOOTBALL By Admin In another flagrant disregard for the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and in a bid remain the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick has challenged the competence and jurisdiction of a Federal High Court, declaring its orders as an 'unnecessary distraction' and a 'detraction'. This is coming from a gathering between Pinnick and some of his close friends in Benin, where they held a meeting, pleading for reconciliation with NFF boss, Chris Giwa. A Federal High Court sitting in Jos declares Giwa as president of the NFF pending when the motion on notice I'd determined, while nullifying Pinnick's claim as NFF president. A position that is affirmed by the Supreme Court. However, following the meeting in Benin, Pinnick and his friends issued a communique, which challenged the authority of the Federal High Court. A portion of the statement says: "there is no basis or foundation for the current court actions in the Federal High Court, Jos in Suit no FHC/J/CS/177/2014 over the same matter as it is clearly ultra vires to football rules and regulations. It is simply an unnecessary distraction to and detraction from the sustainable growth of football in Nigeria and has the potential to get Nigeria suspended from being a member of the global football family, FIFA." Ironically, Pinnick has approached the same court with an ex parte motion seeking to grant him temporary stay as NFF president.
