Plans To Impeach Pinnick As NFF President Thickens

By Arulogun Sunday

Not less than 24 States Football Association Chairmen have endorsed the move to impeach Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to a statement by the president, National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANPF), Harrison Jalla the 24 State FA Chairmen were irked by the arrogance exhibited by Pinnick when he was asked by the Congress in Kaduna fortnight ago to explain why he was sacked by CAF Congress as 1st Vice president of CAF, and to explain to them on recent corruption charges hanging on the federation.

Instead of him to remorsefully explain to the Congress, Pinnick was said to have boasted to Congress members that he has President Buhari on his side and that Criminal charges against him and his gang are trumped up charges that will not see the light of the day having pressed the right buttons.

"On the disgrace and embarrassment of his sack by CAF, he boasted further that Gianni Infantino the FIFA president, opted to intervene on his behalf but he (Pinnick) declined the intervention and bragged that his relationship with Infantino is still intact.

"He was quoted to have further humiliated the Congress with an emphatic statement that nobody can remove him from office that he will serve out his tenure." The statement reads

The fact that Pinnick was even sitting in front of the highest decision making organ of Nigeria Football never bordered him.

"As at the time of this report, clandestine meetings in secret venues are ongoing by the States F.A Chairmen to perfect their action to save Nigeria Football from further disgrace and embarrassment."
