Dakup explained that the new acquisitions who have started training with their new teammates include defenders, midfielders and a striker. According to one of the club's official who didn't want his name mentioned told BSN Sports that the services of Bernard Ivoke, Timothy Danladi, Salifu Oche and five other players have been acquired by Plateau United. Bernard Ivoke and Salifu Oche are from Rivers United while Timothy Danladi was with Katsina United. The impeccabble source said the club kept the names of the players to their chest because all the newly signed players were owed backlogs of salaries by their former employers. He added that if they are unveiled to the public now, it will very difficult for them to get their outstanding balance from their respective former clubs. He, however, noted that the new players were recommended by the club scouts and the new head coach, Abdu Isah Maikaba. Meanwhile, four players have been dropped from the team due to various reasons ranging from low productivity, gross misconduct and indiscipline. The Media Officer who noted that the four players who had their contracts terminated based on mutual consent have been paid all their entitlements including last month’s (October) salary. Four other players have also been given warning letters to improve their performance and discipline or face the exit. The four players, which include a goalkeeper, have been warned by the management of the club that a repeat of such unprofessional behaviour will lead to outright termination of their contracts.
