Onyekuru opened scoring for Galatasaray a minute before half time after he was set up by Brazilian midfielder Fernando. Fernando scored the second goal for Fathi Terim’s men in the 54th minute. The Nigeria international who was cautioned in eight minutes from time was replaced by Michel Limmes deep into stoppage time. Galatsaray moved to top spot in the table following the win albeit on goal difference ahead of Istanbul Basakhessir who occupy second position. They will face Caykur Rizespor in their next Super Lig game on Saturday. In Spain, Samuel Chukwueze saw action for 90 minutes in Villarreal’s 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The game was Chukwueze’s 25th league appearance for the Yellow Submarines and he has scored five goals. Chukwueze was a constant threat on the wings as he completed five dribbles, won eight duels and had two shots on target. Villarreal who dropped to 15th position in the table having garnered 40 points from 36 games. Javi Calleja’s men will fight top maintain their top flight status in the remaining two games of the season.
