Pre-season: Mixed Feelings For Ekong As Watford Lose To West Brom

Nigeria's Super Eagles defender William Troost Ekong was happy to have the fans back at Vicarage Road but sad for the club inability to win the friendly match, BSNSports.com.ng can reports.
The newly promoted club continued its readiness for games ahead of the commencement of the 2021/22 English Premier League season and played host to West Brom in a preseason friendly .
“It was really nice,” he said. “I think all of us really enjoyed the game today. It was important just to get the minutes in but playing in front of the fans is something we’ve been waiting to do for a long time.
“It’s a bit of a shame we couldn’t give them a goal. I think we were quite close a few times, I would’ve loved to hear the roar and cheers again,” said Troost Ekong.
“When we came out and when they named us on the teamsheet, it’s nice to hear all the fans here and we’re going to need that support this year," he said.
Ekong joined Watford last summer from the Italia Serie A side Udinese played a pivotal in the Hornets return to the elite division.
