Premier League: Man City stunned, Liverpool held, Chelsea fly in an unpredictable evening of football

Premier
There were five Premier League matches today, and here are the results from the 5pm (EAT) matches, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The surprising result of the day goes to the match at the Etihad, with Manchester City losing to Patrick Vierra's Crystal Palace, in a match that had Aymeric Laporte shown a red card in the first half, after a subpar start to the game. One might however argue that Brighton pulling a comeback on Liverpool at Anfield was also a surprising result given that the Reds were flying high coming to this game.

Here are the day's results:

  • Burnley 3-1 Brentford
  • Liverpool 2-2 Brighton
Elsewhere at Toons Park, a powerful double from Reece James and a Jorginho penalty helped Chelsea strengthen their grip on top spot in the Premier League with a 3-0 win away to a Newcastle side who will now be dreading a relegation battle.
  • Man City 0-2 Crystal Palace
  • Watford 0-1 Southampton
