Top official of the Special Presidential Investigation Panel (SPIP) confirmed to www.bsnsports.com.ng that the panel might be forced to place a ban on 2nd vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation,NFF, Shehu Dikko and other top NFF officials invited, if they continue to play smart on the agency.
The Investigative panel is investigating alleged diversion of public funds by the NFF and has asked the top officials of the federation to appear before it on Tuesday to clear their names but the invitation was snubbed by the bigwigs of Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board .
Our source revealed that Shehu Dikko visited the office on Thursday in company of FCT Deputy Commissioner of Police, Baba to beg the Presidential Panel, (SPIP) to allow him leave the country and attend a CAF assignment in Cairo, Egypt.
BSN Sports further gathered that Dikko decided to go and see the Panel with the Deputy Commissioner as part of efforts to lure the panel to grant his quest.
The reliable source assures Nigerians that the Investigative Panel will not compromise, disappoint adding that the agency has reiterated its determination to maintain its integrity to do a thorough and objective job on the NFF matter as part of efforts to uphold President Muhammadu Buhari's crusade against public looting.
