Prudent Energy Handball League Phase 2 Kicks off Saturday

All Now Set For the Commencement of The Prudent Energy Handball League Phase 2

All is now set for the commencement of the 2019 Prudent Energy Handball League phase two which will hold at Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria.

The teams who are in Lagos already, will play each other in a round robin game as it were in the first phase in Abuja, to determine who will be the Prudent Energy Handball league champions in the men and women category.

Twelve teams will slug it out in the male league with leaders Kano Pillars hoping that their form in the first phase will continue in their quest to remain as table toppers while Safety Babes will have to fight against ten other teams if they hope to keep their lead on the female league.

Out of the 11 women team, only Ghana Police Female team, who are invited, will play their matches on a non scoring bases.

The participating teams for the men are Bornu Spiders of Maiduguri, COAS Shooters of the Nigeria Army, De Defenders of Civil Defence, Kada Stars of Kaduna, league leaders Kano Pillars of Kano, defending champions Niger United of Minna, Owena Kings of Akure, Plateau Vipers of Jos, Prison Key Boys of Nigeria Prisons, Rima Strikers of Sokoto, Safety Shooters of FRSC and host Seasiders of Lagos.

For the female category, we have Abia Valiant of Umuahia, Defender Babes of the Civil Defence, Desert Queens of Katsina, Edo Dynamos of Benin City, Imo Grasshoppers of Owerri, Kada Queens of Kaduna, Owena Queens of Akure, Defending Champions Plateau Peacocks of Jos, League leaders Safety Babes of FRSC, host Seasider Babes of Lagos and Police of Ghana who are participating on a non scoring basis

The president of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Samuel Ocheho, while welcoming the teams to Lagos for the final phase of the league, also urged them to be of good behaviour and conduct themselves in an orderly manner as professional sports men.

Ocheho appealed to them to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and follow the rules of the league as the festival of handball begins.

Meanwhile, there will be a technical meetings for all the teams and their official participating in the Prudent Handball Energy League final phase.

Alhaji Maigidasanma Mohammed also revealed that the meeting which will also include members of the league's technical committee and umpires, will hold by 8pm on Friday at the Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba, Lagos.

Matches will commence bright and early on Saturday morning, October 5, 2019
