PSL: Akpeyi Injured In Chiefs Defeat

It was double blow for Nigeria's Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi as he was injured in Kaizer Chiefs defeat to Bidvest Wits, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Kaizer Chiefs' ABSA Premiership title hopes suffered a major blow after a 1-0 loss to Bidvest Wits at FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Glamour Boys suffered an injury blow on the stroke of half-time after shot-stopper, former Warri Wolves man, Akpeyi got injured in a collision with Mxolisi Macuphu after coming out to punch a cross. He was replaced by Bruce Bvuma, with Itumeleng Khune not in the match-day squad.

The level of the injury is yet to be determined, as Chiefs continue to press for the title.

The loss gave rival Mamelodi Sundown a lifeline in the title race.
