PSL: Akpeyi Resumes Training Ahead Of Simba SC Clash
By Sampson Adedeji
With few days to the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-final tie against Simba SC of Tanzania, Nigeria's Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, has resumed training with his club Kaizerchief, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Th former Warri Wolves shot stopper has been out of action in the past few weeks which has had a huge impact on the team.
Chiefs have been on a dismal run in the DStv Premiership with just two wins from the last 14 games and have suffered from a host of injuries of late as the squad face the challenge of travelling across the continent.
Their progression to the CAF Champions League quarter-final has been a positive of their challenging campaign in head coach Gavin Hunt's first season but the return to training of goalkeeper Akpeyi will be a welcomed boost.
Tenth-placed Chiefs host fifth-placed Swallows but the game might come too soon for the Nigeria international in the Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium later on Wednesday.
