Middlesbrough captures Mikel

The English Championship side Middlesbrough has announced the Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi as their new recruit, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria's Super Eagles captain left Tianjin Teda at end of the Chinese Super League season after making 31 appearances, scoring three goals for the club.

The coach of the team Tony Pulis expressed his satisfaction on his capture.

“I’m pleased to get him in. He is a man with a lot of experience and quality.

Before joining Tianjin Teda Mikel won many honours with Chelsea including EPL titles, Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League.
