Sampson Adedeji
African soccer governing has approved Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja as the home ground of Nigeria's Super Eagles ahead of their world cup playoff against Ghana, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
After years of abandonment, the stadium was renovated and put in good shape for use late 2021.
The poor condition of the pitch in recent years had led the Super Eagles to playing most of their international matches at the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, before recently switching to the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos State.
After proper inspection and scrutiny by the CAF inspection team, the football body has decided to approve MKO stadium for the use of Super Eagles.
The first assignment of the team at the stadium will be the crucial Qatar 2022 second leg playoff against Black stars of Ghana in March.
