The Nigeria could only secure a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in the final group game of the 2022 World Cup qualifier played at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos. While reacting to the outcome of the match, Osimhen heaped praises on the team for their spirited performance while also focussing on the playoff round salted for 2022. "Strong character from the boys, respect to the Cape Verdean team unto the playoffs now! When Nigeria will get to know its next opponent when the playoff draw is confirmed on December 18th.
