Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifier: Ghana Name New Coach
Sampson Adedeji
Ahead of the match-day 3 and 4 of the 2022 World Cup qualifier, Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced Serbian, Milovan Rajevac as the new manager of the Black Stars, BSNsports.com.ng can report
The tenure of agreement is for a year, however, if he is able to qualify for the World Cup tournament in Qatar, the contract will be extended to 2023.
He comes in as replacement for sacked coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor following the latter’s uninspiring performance in the World Cup qualifiers.
The Ghana Football Association axed Akonnor last week following the team's poor start to the FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The former Algerian coach will be assisted by Ghanaian duo of Otto Addo and Maxwell Konadu.
Rajevac will lead Ghana in the next World Cup qualification matches against Zimbabwe in a doubleheader next month.
