Seychelles began their campaign at the volleyball competition in 2019 Africa Games in the right way as they beat the experienced Nigerian team 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-11) in Pool A.

Seychelles were the leaders from the beginning as they won the first set before Nigeria came back. Again Seychelles led 2-1 before Nigeria draw to extend the match to tiebreaker. Seychelles won the crucial points of the tiebreaker to win the exciting match
