Rangers Manager Excited Over Balogun Capture

The head coach of Glasgow Rangers, Steven Gerrard has expressed happiness over the acquisition of Super Eagles defender, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Balogun joined the Ger late in July after the expiration of his contract with the English premier league side Brighton Hove Albion.

He spent last part of the season the championships side Wigan Athletic and a key player for the team.

Ahead of the premier league with St Johnstone Gerard said the recognised Balogun as the solution to team defensive issues.

" We knew we were getting a top player in Balogun, he is our type and fits our profile and it is important at Ibrox when a team is deep for a defender to be able to sit on the halfway line.

I spoke to Paul Cook about him and he had only good things to say about Leon, he said.

Balogun is expected to be in action when Rangers face St Johnstone in the midweek clash.

Leon Balogun joined Glascow Rangers this season on a year loan deal with an option of contract extension at the end of the season.
