CAFCC: Rangers through to group stage

Enugu Rangers survived early scare by the Gabonese side AS Pelican and emerged victorious after their 3-1 home win in the second leg of the CAF Confederation cup match played on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu.

BSN reports that AS Pelican defeated Rangers 2-1 in the first leg played fortnight ago and also sent early scare in the return leg,

The away side silent a roaring crowd in Enugu when they opened the scorers chat as early as 5th minute through Dertin Amore.

But Ifeanyi George restored parity in the 18th minute of the encounter and gave host an hope going into the locker room.

Nnamdi Egbuhor put Rangers ahead in the 51st before Ibrahim Olawoyin made it 3-1 for the host.

All the efforts of AS Pelican to come back were nullified by Rangers defenders and ensured that the team progressed to the group stage via 4-3 on aggregates.
