Nigerian female national team, Super Falcons’ petite striker, Rasheedat Ajibade has described her move to Atletico Madrid of Spain as ‘a new adventure’ and expressed a deep sense of delight that it will mark a major step forward in her career. The former FC Robo Queens of Lagos youngster said she was thrilled with the deal that saw her join the former Spanish champions on a two-year deal from Avaldsnes Idrettssenter of Norway, and she went on to enthuse that she will be able to make an even greater impact than she has done over the past two seasons in the Norwegian Toppserien. BSNSports.com.ng reports that her second move in Europe became possible after her contract with Avaldsnes ran out in the past month, following a two-year deal that took her to the Scandinavian country from Robo Queens in December 2018. The 21-year-old went on to establish herself firmly in Thomas Dahle’s side with eight goals from 18 games, made the Toppserien Team of the Week eight times, helped the club to a fifth-place finish in 2019, with five goals to her name in the process, and took them to third place in 2020. On completing her switch to Las Rojiblancas, Ajibade took to social media to reveal the level of joy she has with the move, which she described as a new adventure in her unfolding career, and admitted that she is really eager to hit the ground running with the Madrid-based outfit. Ajibade posted: “A new adventure begins @AtletiFemenino. Thank you for the warm welcome. #RASH #TheGirlWithTheBlueHair,” after which she also told the club’s official website: “It is a great privilege and an opportunity to be here. “I am excited to be a part of this team. I hope that together we achieve success. It is a great step in my career and a great challenge for me and I am ready to give it my all. “I am a versatile, versatile, energetic and hard-working player. I tell the Atléticos that I’m going to do my best so that they and the team can feel proud.”
