By Sampson Adedeji
It was a sweet return for former France international midfielder Zinedine Zidane to Real Madrid as he recorded a 2-0 win over struggling Celta Vigo in the Spanish La Liga match played on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Zidane who left the team 10 month ago returned during the week after Los Blancos sacked Santiago Solaris due to backlogs of poor results recorded by the club.
After a goalless first half, it was Spanish international Isco that netted the opener before much maligned Welsh international Gareth Bale sealed the win later in the game.
Madrid are playing to retain their Uefa Champions League spot as they are mathematically out of the race in the Spanish League.
Zidane will be hoping to strengthen the team in the summer as he has marked the players he wants in the team.
