The General Manager of Remo Stars, Ekene Adams has insisted that the team return to the elite league to contest with the 'big boys' for the CAF Club competition ticket, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Remo Stars on Friday shocked MFM FC with a 2-0 defeat in the 2021/22 NPFL opener. The win was Remo Stars first in the NPFL league opener, having failed to win in 2017 and 2019.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports after the victory in Lagos, Ekene praised the players, fans as well as technical crew, "Kudos to the players. They deserved the three points. MFM also did well but the better side won. Remo Stars is still work in progress.
He added, "The win is dedicated to the member of Remo Stars, Technical crew and
particularly the traveling fans who never ceased to cheer the team up from the blast of the whistle. Kudos to the League Management Company (LMC) for making sure that the game is balanced.
"Remo Stars are in the league to compete for the Continental slot with the big boys. The team is made up of young and experienced players led by one of the best Coach in the league (Gbenga Ogunbote) .
Remo Stars will play against Heartland FC on Sunday December 26 on match-day 2 and also trade tackles with Plateau United the following Wednesday.
Both matches will be played at Remo Stars home before traveling to Uyo to face Dakkada FC on match-day 4.
