Revealed: Plans by Alan, Gusau, to disrupt NANPF election By Niyi Busari The last has not been heard about the National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers, NANPF December 4 election. Two board members of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF have vowed to stop former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida, from becoming NANPF president. Their reason, according to a top source, is that their candidate, Dahiru Sadi should continue in office even if it is against the association's constitution. However, there are insinuations that the incumbent president, Dahiru Sadi who lacked the power to contest for the third term because it is against the Association's constitution, is seeking the backings of two NFF board members to disrupt the December 4 NANPF elections. Information reaching our news desk has it that Dahiru Sadi met with Kano Football Association chairman, Sheriff Inuwa, popularly known as 'Alan' and Ibrahim Gusau during Super Eagles AFCON qualifying match against South Africa in order to help him fight his battle. These two NFF board members advised him to disrupt the election by going to court to stop the election. We also gathered that, Dahiru Sadi who didn't show interest in contesting because he didn't buy form and have also failed to pay his dues to the Association for the last two years, does not have the constitutional right to contest . A source very close to plans, wondered how someone who could neither read nor write lead a noble Association like NANPF. He added that going to court will not stop the election but will be an effort in futility. "We are not bothered by their court injunction to frustrate us and stop the election. How can you turn back and fight the Association you have been their president for two terms? "They should go to court, and I believe they will be put to shame as that will be an effort in futility. How can someone who can neither read nor write lead an Association like NANPF?" He asked.
