Revealed: Why Enyimba Are Delaying Finidi Appointment As Technical Adviser
By Niyi Busari
Enyimba International have almost completed the signing of former Super Eagles winger, Finidi George appointment as the head coach but the deal was delayed due to one clause yet to be agreed on by both sides.
Finidi George is expected to take over as the new coach of Enyimba.
The appointment according to pundits will be refreshing and a pathway from the norms.
Nigeria Football expert, Tobi Adepoju posted, "Discussion over backroom staff setup is delaying the official announcement. Finidi wants to come with his first assistant, but Enyimba declined.
The source added; "Finidi requested to come with his first assistant. He is not comfortable with Enyimba setting up the entire crew for him. Yes, discussion at 99% stage, just this clause delaying the official announcement.
"Finidi feels it will be a strange environment to work without a trusted assistant. Enyimba are also saying since Austin Eguavoen experience who came with his first assistant & GK trainer but left with his crew when his contract was terminated. Enyimba doesn't want to fall into this situation. They want to have control over all the assistants and give them a separate contract that won't give the head coach power to take them along if he is leaving."
Former head coach, Fatai Osho has been relieved of his duty after guiding the former African champions to third Finish on the table of the 2020/21 NPFL.
