Rising Star Coach Bemoans Favoritism in Nigeria Football By Wale Ayeni, Abuja The head coach of the Rising Star FC Mr Boye Ogundaru has lamented over the seemingly unfair treatment meted to coaches who do not belong to the football ruling caucus of the nation, BSN Sports reports. Ogundaru made this assertion when his led team were beaten in a rescheduled Nigeria Nationwide League Division One (NLO) playoff to Nigeria National League by Kwara Untied Feaders team 1-2 at the Goal project Abuja National Stadium on Friday. It could be recalled that Rising Star FC defeated Kwara Untied Fender in a controversial game that ended 2-1 in favour of the Akure based club which the organizers of the league requested for a replay of the game. While speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng after the game Ogundaru said that a Nigerian coach can only be successful if he belongs to the football ruling caucus of the Football family in Nigeria. “To be a successful coach, you must belong to that football ruling caucus. I have never seen where a match already won has to be replayed again, in my entire career as a coach” he said. “Out of the four match played on that same day at Makurdi,it is only our match that was demanded to be replayed, because according to them they said that there was no prematch meeting which all both teams were at to unveil the match jerseys “ “During the games extra four minutes was added but when we get to the board we where told that we played just 80 minutes“ “After we defeated Ekiti before the games with Kwara, the coach and the manager of the club said that Kwara Feeders team management are more knowledgeable of football politics than us hence the replay.” With this victory the Kwara based club is set to play at the Nigeria National League next season.
