Rivers United Edge Young Africans In CAF Champions League Sampson Adedeji Nigeria's representative in the champions league Rivers United on Sunday defeated Tanzania side Young Africans in the second leg of the preliminary round of the competition, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The Nigeria side has an advantage going into the second leg after winning 0-1 away from home last weekend. The game played at the Adoke Amasiamaka stadium saw the hosts dominating the proceedings but Young Africans stood their ground to maintain a goalless first stanza. The second kickoff with Rivers United still dominating the game and Young Africans were forced to sit back in their half. The tie remained scoreless until 81st minute when Uche Onwuansanya netted the only goal of the game of an assist from Ishaq Rafiu. The results mean that Rivers United qualified for the next round of the competition 2-0 on aggregate.
