The midfielder dazzled in the orange colours of the Promise Keepers against the Pride of Rivers at the just concluded Governor Wike Preseason Tournament where the latter emerged victorious. A close source to the club told our BSN Sports correspondent that an offer has been made for the star midfielder. "An approach has been made by Rivers United for Chukwu Morice. The club really needs to add some energy to the midfield and Morice is the right fit." The source added that Stanley Eguma's side are willing to up the player's wages which makes it the more tempting. "He is a top target for the Pride of Rivers and they are willing to pay him higher wages. Discussions have started and we hope he joins us". Morice has been a key member of Akwa United since joining the team in 2019 and was never overlooked by either of John Obuh or his successor and current manager Kennedy Boboye. The ex-Go Round FC midfielder has been a fan favourite since joining the Promise Keepers and will be missed if he joins rivals Rivers United. The lure for continental action might be a plus for Rivers United in their pursuit for Morice who seems to have settled in the Land of Promise.
