Rivers United Target Away Win In Caf Confederation Cup Tie With Future Kings
By Sampson Adedeji
With few days to the CAF Confederation Cup match against Futuro Kings of Equatorial Guinea, Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma has confirmed that his boys are determined to beat Futuro in the first leg, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Pride of Rivers were drawn against Equatorial Guinea side in the preliminary round of the Confederation Cup two weeks ago when Africa soccer governing body conducted draw virtually.
While speaking with the media, Eguma said their objective is to secure away win in the first leg and make the return leg in Nigeria a mere formality.
"We are looking for a win, you know it's possible but we are not underrating our opponent.
The game of this magnitude is always a difficult task but we have the mindset that we will go there and see how we can finish the job at their background and then come back to Nigeria and see the return leg as a formality that is our target so we are not resting on our oars," he said.
Rivers United will depart the shore of the country for Equatorial Guinea this week for the first leg of competition against Futuro Kings.
