  Robert Mizo Gets a Brace as Bayelsa United Spank Remo Stars By Hananeel Jackson Two first half goals from Robert Mizo and one each by Emo James and Atiki Egbe gave Bayelsa United a comfortable four-nil thrashing of Remo Stars of Ogun State, in a match day two game of the Nigeria National League NNL southern conference group decided at the Samson Siasia stadium, Yenagoa. Coach Diprieye Teibowei made two changes from the team that lost last weekend to Apex Krane Fc of Agbor with Emo James and debutant Beniangba Victory making his debut after his dream move to Bayelsa United from Dream Boys Football Academy of Odi. Emo James gave Bayelsa United the lead on 23 minutes through Robert Mizo rebound effort to go past Remo Stars Fc goalkeeper Okeshina Oluwaseun. The visitors responded quickly but Bayelsa United shot stopper Issiaka Ogoubiye saved Wisdom Collins shot. Robert Mizo doubled the lead on 33 minutes for the host through Midfielder Favour Martin's cross.Six minutes later, the Imiringi born attacker made it three- nil for the Yenagoa based side from Okardi Inikurogha well connected build up play. Right back Atiki Egbe on 43 minutes joined the attack to score his first goal for Bayelsa United on his debut season for the club. However, Remo stars almost reduced the deficit few minutes into the second half but Issiaka Ogoubiye blocked Yusuf Ibrahim 20 yard shot. The victory leaves Bayelsa United with three points same with Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance who defeated Joy Cometh by two goals to one at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium on Saturday. Bayelsa United will next travel to Uyo on Wednesday to face Ibom Youths while Remo Stars will be at Ikenne, Ogun state where they welcome Abia Comets of Umuahia same day. After the encounter an elated Bayelsa United technical adviser Diprieye Teibowei said the lads were determined to get the result, attributing the outcome to his boys playing to instruction. He explained that though they were unable to score in the second half but the most important thing was getting three points,adding that the boys gave the opponents too much chance to control the ball in the second half. On his part Head coach of Remo Stars, Daniel Ogumodede noted that the result they got was opposite of what they came for,pointing out that the home team destabilised their plans by taking their chances in the first half. Also, goalscorer, Robert Mizo thanked God for the brace he recorded,noting that his aspiration was to continue scoring to realize the quest to return to Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL at the end of the season.
