Rohr Attitude Towards Nigeria Players Not Acceptable - Minister of Sports By Niyi Busari The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare frowned at the attitude of Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr towards the home-based players, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Minister has been an advocate of inclusion of home-based players into the national team, according to him, Gernot Rohr's attitude towards the domestic players shows otherwise which didn't go well with him. Sunday Dare on Tuesday visited the home-based Super Eagles to bid them farewell to the USA where they are to play Mexico in an international friendly game. He said, "We had a meeting with the NFF and part of thing we reiterated was the need for a technical adviser who pays attention to our local league. He added, "I just found out that he has travelled ahead but it is important that will tell the NFF to call Gernot Rohr to order because we can not have a technical coach who discriminate amongst our players. They're football players they have the talents, you cannot discriminate. His attitude towards home based players is not acceptable. It is negative to our football development in this country and I call on the NFF to call him to order and to hold him by the Content of the letter of his contract. He warned Rohr to stop talking and face the job he's hired to do by blending the home-based players with their foreign-based counterparts. "But beyond that, he needs to shut up and do the work for which he was hired to do. He talks too much. We have started a process now and we will make sure that these players here must be blend with foreign based players. Like I said, we must return back to the strength of our football in this country. In the past we've seen mixture of five or six home-based players holding our defense so tight and then bring in foreign base players who do the damage upfront and has always worked for us. He continued, "Since we departed from just assembling 99% of our players which is an easy ride for any technical adviser. We have struggled to score goals. We ended up with draws without scoring goals. But I think there's a new trajectory on the part of NFF and Gernot Rohr must key into that and I hope that his position about that country not been able to win Cup of Nations and the humble home-based players not deserving of his time change soon. He's hired to coach Nigeria Super Eagles players. He cannot descriminate. The Ministry of Youth and Sports will keep a close tab in making sure that the right is done. And whoever is our technical adviser must respect every single Nigerian who plays for this country." He concluded.
