By Sampson Adedeji

Few months after 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, BSNSports.com.ng can report that Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has pinned the Semifinal ouster of Super Eagles to goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi.

BSN reports that the Desert Foxes of Algeria defeated Super Eagles 2-1 in the Semifinal after well placed free kick form Riyad Mahrez rattled Nigeria goalkeeper, Akpeyi.

Rohr stated that, the team did everything they could to stop the ball from going in but Akpeyi poor positioning cost them the game.

" At first it was unfortunate that the foul had even occurred near the 18 yard box.

Then the wall wanted to jump and one threw himself on the floor to fend off the ball. We took care of everything, just our goalkeeper was not behind the wall" , he stated.

Nigeria finished third in the competition and Akpeyi has not been handed an invitation to the team since then.
