Rohr Deserves A New Contract… Patrick Pascal

Super Eagles Coordinator Patrick Pascal has advised the leadership of the NFF to renew the contract of Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Genrot Rohr, saying that the Franco-German man has brought stability into the team.

Pascal who is the Chairman of Bauchi State Football Association spoke in an online wassap Personality Interview organized by "FCT Football Update " said Genrot Rohr has succeeded in bringing the needed competition into the team, and stabilizing every department of the team.

"what we have in the Super Eagles now is a bunch of young talented players that will serve the country for up to ten years, and win various laurels for the country. This is not a team where if a player is missing, the whole country will be panicking. In this present Super Eagles team, no player is indispensable. If a player is unavailable for whatever reasons, there are capable replacement, who will give their hundred performance. That is what makes a great team, and that is exactly one of the things Coach Rohr has achieved ".

Continuing, the former Shooting Stars of Ibadan utility player said the day of the Coach of the Super Eagles saying that they are rebuilding the team is gone, as Rohr has succeeded in putting together an enduring senior national team that will last test of time.

The 1996 Olympics gold medalist said that the incessant crisis in Nigeria football has contributed a lot in ensuring that quality players are not produced from the domestic league

"it is very evident that our league no longer have the high quality of players that were known for Nigerian league in the past. Players that will get to any team in the world and walk into their main team. But, what do you have now, half baked players many of whom will prefer to hide in clubs academy in remote leagues, and less football playing countries. You will ask why is it so?, the answer is very simple. Because of the regular crisis that have evolved our football at home, no corporate body or individual is ready to invest into the domestic league to them produce high quality players that will make a mark in the Senior National team, and make maximum impact overseas. He went ahead to advise Nigerians to join hands to develop the league at home, which will translates to the players.

Pascal however dismissed regular calls that ex-internationals should take over the administration of the game in the country "those ex-internationals that are agitating for that, what structures do they have at their locality. They should go back to their locality and set up a solid structure that will stand the test of time. Football elections are won with structures and not on pages of newspapers or radio airwaves.
