Rohr Is A Bone In The Throat of The NFF – Chris Green
By Niyi Busari
Former Chairman, Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and Chairman, Rivers State Football Association, Barrister Christopher Green revealed that the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr's contract will be extended by the NFF, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Chris Green explained that the Franco-German coach can only leave when he wishes because the country is stocked with him and has a strong hold on Nigeria. He added that the federation is only making it look like he is the one begging Nigeria. According to him, the federation will extend his contract with improved emolument and salary because all the NFF is doing is just 'show off'.
“Rohr is a bone in the throat of the Nff. Let’s forget the public show. The man’s contract is ready for him to sign. Na him sef dey do us yanga and shakara. Why will this be an issue if we are bold and courageous to do the right things. Why are we afraid to take an easy decision. Rohr owns the Super Eagles. Who have we offended?
He said the Coronavirus break is enough for the NFF to search for new coach, if they are really serious about looking for his replacement.
“We are stocked with Rohr. Rohr will leave in his own terms. The marriage seems uncomfortable but the man has a strong hold on us. Nobody, I repeat Nobody in the Nff can remove Rohr. His contract will be extended with improved emolument and salary.” He said.
Green promised to apologise to Nigerians if Rohr contract is not extended by the federation.
“If his contract is not extended I will apologize to this Nigerians . Green told BSN Sports.
”Is the Corona break not enough to scout and get a better hand to take over from him? Relationship between Rohr and his employers is strained but the guy has a hold on us. You will hear Rohr has accepted to leave in Nigeria and be paid in Naira, all that na for press. You will hear that he’s outside monitoring our players.
“All that na story. He will come into the country for one week just to do small show then leave for another one month. If we win one good match, the man will kuku remain abroad. I bet Rohr will not go beyond Lagos and Ph to see a league match. He will not watch the lower leagues. Guys get ready to live with these facts. Let them prove me wrong.”
