Rohr Questions Iheanacho Assessment
By: Abidoye Babatunde
Nigeria International Kelechi Iheanacho’s professionalism has been questioned in a highly critical assessment by his national team manager Gernot Rohr, BSNSports reports.
He has been left at home for current international break, with Rohr
dissatisfied by his recent performances for Super Eagles and his lack of game-time at Leicester City.
Iheanacho, 22, has not started a Premier League game for City since mid-December, while he has not scored a club goal for more than six months.
Rohr believes Iheanacho’s dry spell is as much to do with a lack of commitment as a lack of confidence but hopes Brendan Rodgers can help get him firing again.
“Not satisfied with his performances the last time he was with us, Rohr stated.
Iheanacho is the life and soul of the dressing room with City and Nigeria, but Rohr needs to see more from him.
“It's not good enough to be funny all the time,” the German coach said.
