Rohr Salutes ‘Culture Of Respect’ Among Super Eagles’ Players

Rohr
Super Eagles’ couch, Gernot Rohr has spoken out in support of what he described as the culture of respect among his players, which he believes is another factor for cement cordial relations among stars and rookies in the team, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Speaking ahead of his next camping experience with the squad he first handled back in 2016, the Franco-German gaffer acknowledged that the ‘culture of respect’ spreads from younger players to older ones and from all the lads to their coaches, which he stressed is ideal for team bonding. The 67-year-old former Girondins-Bordeaux of France, Niger Republic, Gabon and Burkina Faso handler added that he was shown lots of respect by Eagles’ senior players like John Mikel, Odion Jude Ighalo and Victor Moses, before they all retired from international duty. He went on to note that the respect factor among his players is not just because of his position as handler of the side and due to his age, considering that all the players also show enough levels off respect among one another, which he described one of the factors needed for success as a team. Rohr told German television channel, Sport1: “In Nigeria the players have a lot of respect for the personality of the coach. They are very obedient. “The elderly enjoy a lot of respect here. The older people get, the more respect they get. It’s nice to see how the players implement this. “They are not just deported to homes, they stay in the family and are always listened to. That’s wonderful.”
