Rosenborg Signs Nigeria-Eligible Striker On Loan From Chelsea
Rosenborg has agreed with Chelsea on a loan agreement for Bryan Fiabema until 2022. Rosenborg also has an option to buy.
"I am happy to be here and look forward to getting started," says Fiabema to RBK.no.
The striker made his debut in the Elite Series for Tromsø already as a 16-year-old in 2019. And far bigger clubs quickly opened their eyes to him. In January 2020, Fiabema was ready for Chelsea where he has since played U18 and U23 football for the London club.
"I have attended a very good school in Chelsea and am ready for senior football now," he says.
"It was very interesting when Rosenborg made contact. Rosenborg is Norway's largest club and is a club I have followed since I was little. Now I am here and ready to take the next step," he added.
The 19-year-old can play in all three positions at the top, but thrives best in the top spot.
"I have a direct playing style and try to move forward every time I get the ball. I have speed and some power. Then I like to score goals. I do not hide it," he says with a smile when asked type of player he is on the field.
Fiabema is aware that expectations are high in Rosenborg despite the fact that the table positions have not been the best in recent years.
"It's a bit of a thing, really. You feel the pressure of playing in Rosenborg. I want to contribute to the club going back to where it should be," he concluded.
