It was a day to forget for Nigeria's Super Eagles Defender Brian Idowu as he was sent off in Khimki 2-1 FK Akhmat in the Russia premier league on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Idowu joined Khimki on loan this summer from Lokomotive Moscow in order to secure a regular football action.

He started the game on Saturday and was booked earlier in the game for a dangerous play.

Khimki opened the scoring in the 21st minutes of the encounter, through Egor Danilkin, but the visitors hit back in 73rd minutes through Vladimir Iljin’s penalty.

Artem Timofeev put the game beyond Khimki with a we finished goal before Idowu was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The result put host in 15th position on the table.
