Russia 2018-Akande drums support for Super Eagles By Admin Oyo state governorship aspirant,Professor Adeolu Akande has drummed up support for the country's national team ahead of the forthcoming World Cup in Russia saying Nigerians should support the team. Speaking with Tribunsport Saturday during the visit of the Chairman,Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN),Oyo state chapter and some members to his Samonda residence ,the governorship hopeful while eulogizing the effort of the head coach of the team Gernort Rohr believed that with support form all Nigerians ,the team will do well at the mundial. Akande,former Chief of Staff to the governor of Oyo state,Senator Abiola Ajimobi further hinted that he has has Benin monitoring the progress of the team since the coach took over saying the team if progressing and they are team of the future which need the total,support of all Nigerians ."for our national team to excel we all have to support the team with all means and I see the team making us proud in Russia .The team has done well so far so good ,and with the level of the friendly matches played so far,the team has not done badly and I don't want them to be judged by the loss to Serbia,but the competition proper,so with our collective support and words of encouragement ,Super Eagles will fly in Russia",he said. Speaking further,the aspirant who promised to support the state swan in his capacity commended the leadership of the association in the state for rebranding the association and urged them to ensure it do more . The chairman ,Niyi Alebiosu,while responding thanked him for the honor of hosting the team despite his tight and busy schedule and pray for God to grant his wishes. "I want to thank you on behalf of all members of the association for the no our despite the short notice ,we really appreciate this and wish yiu the very best of luck as you promised to support and we in Swan promised to maintain the integrity and promote sport positively in the state and beyond'',Alebiosu said.
