The Nigeria vs England pre-World Cup friendly game is much more than a game, according to the British High Commissioner to Nigeria Paul Arkwright.
Arkwright noted this recently when playing host to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Melvin Pinnick and the 2nd Vice President Shehu Dikko in his Abuja office.
He noted that events have been organised before and after the game to lead to showcase the cultural ties between the countries.
“Let me also assure you that England is taking this match very seriously. It is more than just a game; it is a big preparatory game towards the FIFA World Cup,” the High Commissioner added.
“More than that, the historical ties between our two countries are there to be considered, so it will also serve to strengthen and enhance relations and good collaboration between our countries.”
Nigeria will take on the Three Lions on June 2nd, days before the World Cup begins in Russia.
