Russia 2018: Super Eagles will Qualify For Second Round... Shehu Dikko Assures Nigerians

Russia
LMC CHAIRMAN SHEHU DIKKO SAID "WE WILL WIN" AND WE WON. By Adewale Ajayi LMC chairman Shehu Dikko is the happiest Nigerian alive because of his closeness to the team. He led them from London to Austria and has been with the boys through difficult and hard times. While others like me and you reading this piece doubted the boys, Dikko was unrelenting in his believe and trust in the ability of these boys to surmount the hurdle ahead of them. Wearing his usual smiling face, the Zaria born football administrator was emphatic with his prediction before kickoff. A prediction that has now come to pass. "We are winning this match. Remember we know how to fight back with our backs to the wall. Croatia gave us a rude reception in Russia and it is now time to rise to the occasion. We are not losing sleep so early, we are in Russia for this battle and we are ready to take the fight to the opposition. From my close contact, close assessment and one on one discussions with these players, I could see the fire burning in their eyes and it gave me the assurance that we will win in style. We have done that today and hopefully we will do same in our next match against Argentina to pick a second round ticket. Nigerians must believe in this team, we must be united in our prayers and be patriotic in our support. We have a duty to support this team because out there they are our ambassadors and deserve all the love he concluded. The Nigerian football federation has done so well in promoting the Nigerian brand out there in Russia. As chairman of NFF Marketing/Sponsorship committee, Dikko and his team did a great job with the Super Eagles jersey, adjudged by many as the best National team attire in Russia. The massive publicity and love shown to the Super Eagles at the World Cup is a further indication that the Nigerian brand has come to stay in the hearts of many who travelled from far and wide to enjoy the rich spectacle of the world cup. All these are pointers to the fact that the Nigeria football federation is determined ever than before to achieve full autonomy by taking the burden of sponsorship off the neck of the federal government.
